Why should I start practicing Yoga?

Being flexible is not a requirement to practice yoga. Over time, however, you will become more flexible. There are many modifications that the instructor can guide you through if you are not ready for a particular asana/pose.

What do I need to wear or bring to class?

Wear comfortable and loose clothing. Bring water, a mat, and an open mind. Leave your socks and sneakers at home as you will be practicing with your bare feet. Do not eat at least 2 hours prior to attending class if possible, as its best to practice yoga on an empty stomach.

Where can I get a mat?

You do not need to get a fancy mat to practice yoga. You can purchase one online or at a local retailer for an affordable price. You may also purchase one from our studio if necessary. We recommend purchasing a thin mat so that it provides you with more stability during your practice.

Why do we OM?

OM is the sound of the universe, which connects us to all living things. The vibrations felt in the throat during this practice are very healing. You are not required to participate as it can be intimidating to many new students.
